Early in the morning on Friday, November 9th, 2012 another pedestrian was seriously injured when he was hit by a car as he was walking in a crosswalk at Beale Street and Newport Ave. According to police reports, the car was making a left hand turn from Beale onto Newport when it struck the victim, a man in his 70s. Witnesses stated the driver had a green arrow, giving him the right-of-way. Due to the severity of his injuries, the police were unable to get a statement from the victim before he was transported to the hospital.
