Edward Pacheco Jr. , a previously convicted sex offender, was sentenced earlier this week to 25-35 years in prison followed by a 40-year probation. The sentence was handed down after his conviction for statutory rape and rape of a child by force. Pacheco was a friend of his victim's family. He began raping the young girl starting when she was 12 years old, and continuing over a period of many years. At the time of his conviction, he had previously been convicted of child rape in another, unrelated case.
